An immersive environment created by Harry Holcombe-James with sound by Jack McLaine. Fall With Me sees a curated interaction between viewer, space and environment with social and individual experiences. The work encourages explorations into unknown landscapes within the mind. FALL WITH ME has been exhibited at Design Tas (2018), Sawtooth ARI (2019), and Junction Arts Festival (2019).

FALL WITH ME is an immersive experience that incorporates the ganzfeld effect through light, sound, and movement. It utilizes custom-made goggles to filter light, audio headphones, and a specially designed furniture piece that lifts and lowers the viewer. The experience is abstract, devoid of apparent meaning, and allows participants to forget their sense of physical location and explore their stimulated mental representations. This work is part of Holcombe-James’ exploration of digitally controlled sensory experiences, integrating touch, light, and sound.

FALL WITH ME begins in a waiting room designed to prime the audience for the solo experience. The waiting room features soft furnishings and a hypnotic film presentation intended to calm and clear the viewer’s mind, preparing them for the intimate experience. The goal is to induce a relaxed state before entering the main experience.

The individual experience takes place in a room containing the experiential furniture and the operator. Participants lie on the bed wearing custom-made ganzfeld goggles and sound-isolating headphones, creating an immersive environment. The goggles present a boundless display of light and color, devoid of perceivable depth, while the bed gently rises and falls, simulating a floating sensation.

This curated presentation of light, sound, and movement lasts for five minutes, offering a deeply absorbing and unique sensory journey.
